About Julie

Julie Funderburk has over 25 years of experience in the fitness industry. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise from Virginia Tech, as well as a Master’s Degree in Exercise Science from Georgia State University. Julie is also a certified yoga instructor.

Her career in fitness began at Virginia Tech, where she served as a group fitness instructor and personal trainer, working with both college students and faculty, as well as volunteering as a trainer for the Air Force ROTC program. Over the years, Julie has held various roles, including the coordinator of fitness programs at several college campuses and as a clinical exercise physiologist at the Johns Hopkins Weight Management Center. She has also served as a consultant for magazines such as Natural Health and has been a guest lecturer at numerous businesses and universities, including the University of Maryland.

Julie’s mission is to empower individuals with the knowledge and motivation needed to make exercise a consistent and lasting part of their lives, ultimately using it to enhance their quality of life. She is passionate about in-home personal training because it allows her to work with clients in the comfort of their own space, helping them feel at ease and supported throughout their fitness journey.
